I dunno about you guys, but I had such a great time this morning watching my childhood all over again. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aurora77 and [livejournal.com profile] captain_slinky for putting this together and to all the people who came out and chatted on IRC and re-lived the memories of a great Saturday Morning growing up. Feel free to share around. Just don't hot-link, please.

WHile doing my scientific research for this community, I discovered far too many cereals that simply COULD NOT be ignored or skipped over. And so our Cereal Polls for this community will be increased from 3 polls to 4. Here is pool number 3 which I simply call "On The Shoulders of Giants". These are the PILLARS of Sugary Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. These are the ones that everyone knows and they really do deserve a special treatment... a poll that sets them apart from all the other cereals.

Vote for as many as you experienced, or as many as you actually enjoyed, or the ones you still eat today... just vote for all your favorites! And if you want to see a commercial from the 80's of each one, feel free to click on the individual names of the cereals to link over to YouTube and watch :)

Poll #2 in our special series of Breakfast Cereal polls! This time around we examine the "Healthy" cereals. Vote for all the ones that you ate with any degree of regularity, and remember; we're doing this for SCIENCE!

Oh, and you can as with ALL our polls, click on the poll entry to see a video of the thing you're voting for :)

Oddly, "In The News" was one of my favorite parts of Saturday Morning in the 80's. Not because I enjoyed the news items or anything, but because I then knew that I had up to 5 minutes to go potty, get a fresh bowl of cereal and grab my Legos before the cartoons started up again. Like, if Saturday Morning in the 80's were a classic rock radio station and I were a DJ? "In The News" would be Don McLean's "American Pie" or Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven".
