Just curious, and it may help sway some decisions we have to make about the next 1980's Saturday Morning Historical Reenactment Society Watch-Along (calm down, it won't be till December at the earliest)...

Is there anything any of us could do to help out?

Left off '80 cause I was still a little too young to really know what was going on, but I'm sure I was watching at least a few cartoons on Saturday morning.

I think my Saturday Morning experience peaked when they started showing TMNT, but that was in 1990. Maybe X-Men was the last great Saturday Morning Cartoon? By that time I hit high school and Saturday morning became time to sleep. lol :P But there was nothing good on anymore anyway!

Nothing you can do... I'm making the events sparse enough that everybody stays ravenous for them instead of jut taking them for granted :P

FOX did an outstanding job of trying to save Saturday Mornings with a great mix of original programming (The Tick, X-Men, Kirby, TMNT)... they deserve some special mention I think :)

Oh yeah, The Tick was on then too!
Wow, after looking up the schedules, I forgot a lot of shows that didn't start until the early '90s. (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures, Back to the Future, Pirates of Dark Water, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, WildC.A.T.s)

I for one most definitely don't take it for granted! hehe :) It would rule if eventually we could do it every other month or so, but I know it's wishful thinking. :P

Oh, I loved TMNT and X-men too. Netflix has X-men on instant stream and I wish I could just sit and watch them all again non-stop! :-) Too bad work has to get in the way of all the good stuff! :-P

When X-Men first started I was a total nerd and complained about all the changes from the comics, even though I still loved it. Watching it now it's like WOW, probably the best X-Men adaptation yet! I was watching them on Netflix too! haha :) Although they just recently added Star Blazers and now I'm getting sucked into that. :P

Yup! :D
Only season one so far, but they have it set up kind of weird, when I started it the other night I only intended to watch one episode, but it just kept going, and I noticed the runtime was about movie length... no idea why they clumped them together that way, but whatever, I LOVE IT SO MUCH OMG! And it's been many years since I've really sat down and watched it through.

I have VERY vivid memories of being about three or four years old and waking up super early, before my mom, just to watch this show. The Yamato, the wave motion gun, and the "EARTH HAS ___ DAYS LEFT" at the end of every episode have all really stuck in my mind ever since then. Those were the only things I could remember for years, not even the name of the show, until I was discovering "Japanimation" about ten years later. :)
