NOW we're talking! Not many new cartoons debuted in 1986, but of the ten that did debut there are some REAL power players!

Funny, I picked the same ones that Molly would pick.

Ghostbusters was my favorite cartoon ever, but I really liked the Flintsone kids.

I think I had completely forgotten about the existence of Foofur until that clip, but as soon as I saw it, I remembered watching it.

Dude. I LOVED Pee-Wee's Playhouse growing up. It was one of my favorite shows! And Care Bears was awesome. And Ghostbusters was awesome too! :D

Yes! Other people know of the wonderful Galaxy High School!! This was a great show, but due to my CBS affiate's local programming, I had to try to get the reception from a Ohio station(didn't always work out so well).

Much to most people's surprise, Chris Columbus(director of Home Alone & Harry Potter 1&2)was the creator & director of this series!!

For some reason, I neglected to vote for the Ghostbusters, but it looks like it got enough votes, anyway.
Pee Wee was awesome, too.

Ghostbusters. Dude, JMS (aka "the Great Maker") was writing! They flew an amazing amount of crap under the radar, kept a decent continuity, and even managed to translate the characters with relative fidelity while keeping it G-rated. Considering the movie was a cheerfully raunchy comedy with Ackroyd and Murray fresh off SNL, this was no small feat!

One of the things that keeps me coming back to cartoons, even when I'm well past drinking age, is how much storytelling you could cram into a 22 minute window, even with the restrictions and executive-mandated idiocy.
