WHile doing my scientific research for this community, I discovered far too many cereals that simply COULD NOT be ignored or skipped over. And so our Cereal Polls for this community will be increased from 3 polls to 4. Here is pool number 3 which I simply call "On The Shoulders of Giants". These are the PILLARS of Sugary Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. These are the ones that everyone knows and they really do deserve a special treatment... a poll that sets them apart from all the other cereals.

Vote for as many as you experienced, or as many as you actually enjoyed, or the ones you still eat today... just vote for all your favorites! And if you want to see a commercial from the 80's of each one, feel free to click on the individual names of the cereals to link over to YouTube and watch :)

Lucky Charms were the most fun looking cereal, but they didn't taste very good to me. Cap'n Crunch was my favorite.

Any cereal that couldn't stand up to milk was out. I still only pour a little milk into the bowl and only right before I'm about to eat so my cereal doesn't go soggy. Rice Krispies and [Fruity|Cocoa] Pebbles were tasty, but they went soggy too fast!

I know what you mean. I eventually learned to stop eating it once my mouth started feeling irritated. That was the only one that I let sit in the milk a little bit first.

I have never been able to accurately describe my love/hate relationship with Cap'n Crunch but this sums it up both perfectly and hilariously. Said description could also apply to both Toblerone and (in my case at least) Starburst candies.

Wow. I never even came close to thinking any of that. The theory sounds a lot like some of the ones I heard growing up about various otherwise-benign-seeming products/bands/what-have-you. XD I generally thought most of it was reaching at best.

They had Pac Man cereal for a while there too that was based on Lucky Charms. All the little marshmallows were ghosts and pacmans.

I thought they looked like little crosses but I hadn't thought about the fish. LOL and I went to Catholic school of all things ;)

I agree with that...the cereal has to stand up to the milk. Like you, I only pour about half a cup ( if that) into the bowl.

Yeah, because too much and it will make the cereal soggy before you can get to it, and too much milk is wasted otherwise.

I'm so looking forward to having some pop tarts and Cap'n Crunch that day!

Pop Tarts!!! My favorite was strawberry Pop Tarts! I wouldn't even put them in the toaster I'd just eat em right out of the package. My parents used to gross out at that. LOL
