Fat Albert & The Cosy Kids premiered in 1972, sure, but it wasn't till the 1979/1980 season that they made a drastic change to the show which forever separated the show in to two very distinct "Pre" and "Post" eras.



That's right... THE BROWN HORNET. Just in case the moral message of the show wasn't being ham-fistedly shoved down your throat quite fast enough, they decided to break in to the middle of every episode to have a fictional show WITHIN the show blatantly state and deliver the moral message to you. THat's effin' BRILLIANT!

The Brown Hornet bits always felt odd to me, being a show within a show. Didn't Bill Cosby also do some kind of drawing segment?

The drawing segments you're thinking of were his "Picture Pages" segment on Captain Kangaroo, I'm sure :)

This show was pretty awesome. I think the best one was the "scare 'em straight" one where they went to visit a prison.

And seeing the mention of Picture Pages made me sing the theme song. :D
