Feel free to correct me on this, as I'm not about to Google (I feel like Googling stuff in my head, even just to confirm or deny, is like cheating), but I think that the Gummi Bears directly lead to the creation of the beloved Disney Afternoon cartoons? This cartoon was Disney's first attempt at a standard episodic cartoon show, wasn't it? I remember it seeming epic and important because it had the DISNEY name on it :)

SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS CARTOON! I can't even begin to put it in to words! It was perfect timing for me! Kevin Closson (who was 2 years older than me and was my IDOL) was deeply in to Professional Wrestling and this was a great way for me to learn about the wrestlers without having to actually *watch* any wrestling! Like The Get-Along Gang, I can't remember a single episode of this show but I remember it very fondly :)

Watch-Along Poll

Not sure if everyone is aware, but did you know that the entire purpose of the community is to plan and coordinate a massive on-line Saturday Morning Watch-Along for September 3rd?

Our vision is that at 6am PST (9am EST) all sorts of folks from coast to coast will go to a particular YouTube play list that we've created specially for this event, hit play and then KEEP THE PLAYLIST RUNNING FR THE NEXT SEVEN HOURS. No pausing, no skipping ahead, just all of us watching the exact same cartoons and commercials at the exact same time and chatting about it as we do it. It'll be fun!

With any luck, assuming that this goes well, we'll do a few of these watch-alongs through the year and hopefully build to an incredible IRL EVENT at a hotel where each hotel room will represent a different channel. You can "change the channel" bu getting up and going to a different hotel room :)
