I used to have a couple of Smurfs books and a stuffed Smurfette. I remember some of my friends weren't allowed to have them because their parents thought smurfs were evil or demonic or something like that. I thought it sounded ridiculous. I still remember running around with friends singing the theme.

I remember this so well. I loved the smurfs so much I was smurfette for halloween in kidergarten, and my brother was papa smurf.
