Oofah, best wishes to her and all of you; our kiddo had hers out when she was seven and it went pretty well. Stock up on jello and pudding and popsicles!

Owies! I had mine out 2 weeks shy of my 21st birthday. It sucked. My throat felt like it had the burning of a 1000 suns while I was healing.

May her recovery be quick and the ices be plenty! (No ice cream though, because phlegm.)
