My comic book collection costs me $53 a month because we do not have room for it in the house - I have my own storage unit dedicated to them :)
I collected all my life, then opened a comic book store in '92 where I ended us selling off most of my own original collection, then slowly replaced them all increased the collection size a dozen times over, specializing in 1970's and 1980's comics right before anyone thought they were actually worth anything :)
Dealers at conventions were always "Oh geez here comes the guy who I can unload all those old GI Joe and Transformers comics on! Here, take 'em! $10 a long-box! Get them out of my inventory!"
