80s baby. I was born in 1983. We didn't have cable but back then, it didn't matter so much because cartoons were on TV pretty much all the time - weekday mornings and afternoons, and Saturday and Sunday mornings. There was never a dull moment at all.

I grew up with sitcoms and cartoons both. My fav cartoons: My Little pony 'n Friends, Smurfs, Heathcliff, Garfield and Friends, TMNT (80s/90s cartoon), Jem, all the Disney Afternoon shows (Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, etc.), ALF, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Teddy Ruxpin cartoon (also owned the talking doll too), Dennis the Menace. The list is much longer than that - I had a lot of fandoms back in the 80s and 90s.

And of course the local stations also aired some of the old syndicated shows like Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, etc.

The 80s and 90s were pretty good times for animation. It really isn't the same these days and I've seen animation start to decline a lot, especially the last couple of years. Jimmy Neutron is the last animated fandom I really liked. Ever since then, I've noticed the quality of animation becoming less and less than what it used to be.

It's good to find a community on LJ where we can relive the good old days.

It's also rare to find a community get the LJ spotlight two weeks after it was created so I wanted to congratulate both of you on that accomplishment! Keep it up! :)
