Pretend to be She-Ra with a bunch of friends. The tree in the backyard being whispering woods, the house/tree house being the crystal castle, the deck being the fright zone, you're annoying little brother being Imp and that stick you found being your sword of protection. Your husband can be Hordak or, I suppose, He-Man. Sea Hawk?
I was more of a tmnt girl anyway but that usually didn't require as many fun props.
- Play grounders or freeze tag (or Red Rover, "What time is it Mr. Wolf", capture the flag...etc) - Hopscotch - Chalk drawings - Battleship/Stratego - Mac & Cheese - Jump rope - Ghost stories - Where in the world is carmen sandiego, Number Munchers, super solvers!
Ontario you say? - Watch some Today's Special, under the umbrella tree, fred penner's place, Friendly Giant, Mr. Dress Up (lol, I hated almost all these shows at one point or another but part of childhood)
