A lot of people had no idea that this cartoon ever existed. Heck, even *I* didn't know it existed until I found a Karate Kid lunch box at a local thrift store a few years back! Looks kind of awesome, I think?

And just to make us all feel a little bit older, Ralph "The Karate Kid" Machio just turned 50 this week. FIFTY YEARS OLD.

I remember catching this a few times back in the day, and thinking the same thing then that I think now... What the hell is Karate Kid doing surfing on torpedoes?!?!?! LOL :P That theme song is totally awesome though.

I JUST the other night saw that this is up for streaming on Netflix! :)

I watched this at least a little bit. It was kind of like Jem and the Holograms for boys, if that makes any sense. All the drama and weird lack of real world consequences but in this show there is less makeup and fashion issues and more kicking ass cartoon style.

That is AMAZING

He leaped onto and surfed a torpedo, then got on a plane, then somehow wound up in a car which they jumped hundreds of feet into the air, missed rescuing someone, and the Miyagi lands the car on a cliff and gives a thumbs up.

My mind is so blown it will never be put back together
