The Littles was a staple around my house.  I loved Lucy Little, Grandpa Little and their adorable pet turtle, Slick.  I used to wonder what it would be like to have little people living in the walls.  I was always annoyed by Dinky and his ineptness.  I read some of the books by John Peterson, on which the show was based, but I'd already watched so much of the show that the books just weren't quite as exciting as they would otherwise have been.  I don't remember any toys, but one of my friends had The Littles Board Game, which had an odd three-dimensional board.

What are your memories of The Littles?  Share them in the comments!

I definitely remember this show. They were quite fascinating, as the episodes always ended in a cliffhanger and a nice amount of suspense. (Such things were rare by 1983 animation standards.)

Either way, one of DIC's finer efforts. They have been re-airing, recently, depending on one's syndication station. If not, always YouTube, right?

That's why I'm here. Heh. Although, sometimes, I find out by sheer fluke.

Indeed, between the cliffhanger nature and the general suspense, it was considerably different from DIC's normally episodic fare, as well. And you're right, as they had to be resourceful and cautious to survive. I forgot how accurate they were to the books, as DIC hasn't been the best at this (looking at you, Captain N or most of the Nintendo library).

Close enough, although, these days, I'm not as much as a stickler, as I once was. Some adaptations do end up working better than the original forms, depending on what it is. Besides, canon fans can take themselves pretty seriously, and thankfully, I try not to be one of them.

In terms of accuracy, in the late 80's, things weren't as centralized or, say, writers had an instant resource, like the interweb. (The internet was there, but didn't achieve its own popularity until the late 90's.) Moreoever, with the popularity of Mario and all the Nintendo products at that point, everyone was just making it up as they went, I think.

Captain N would probably bother me most, if only because I'm a hardcore NES player. The rest, you can chalk to dramatic license or "close enough." As it is, SMB 3 was the closest in terms of game accuracy of DIC's Mario fare, and most enjoyable. I liked Super Show, and I am curious about World (as I haven't seen much of it, plus its lack of quality).

Besides, as you point out, they all have their charm, even the Cap N's versions of Mega Man and Kid Icarus. (Or, it's not worth raging over -- it's only a TV show, so I should just relax.)

Sorry for being so verbose, but sometimes, I have to go where the tangent takes me. Heh.

Not all, just some select episodes from the seasons. But yeah, there's like, 40 or so episodes!
Dont-cha LOVE Netflix!

I was a lonely child... I used to make teeny-tiny furniture and hide it in the walls of my house and under floorboards. Then I would take my trusty tape recorder and make audio recordings of me "Discovering" the tiny furniture :)

I remember watching The Littles. It wasn't my favorite cartoon, but it was never boring.
