Poll #5: The Best of 1984

[Poll #1766532]

A few notes:
  • More live-action shows than we've ever seen on Saturday mornings in the 80's hit this year, I think it was maybe to fill the coming void of Captain Kangaroo leaving the air :(
  • Lots of the shows which have been heavily requested by our members make their debut here, including Kidd Video and Muppet Babies
  • To this day I STILL sing the Pole Position theme song when driving really fast and passing other cars :)

I'll go with Muppet Babies, as it was the best written of all those shows. (Not that the others are inferior, but MB had a different quality or approach than most, especially by today's standards. Nothing like that, today, I think.)

Although, I can't say no to Snorks, either. Underwater Smurfs? I'm sold. Heh.

I thought Turbo Teen was pretty cheesy, even as a kid. I honestly don't recall VidKids. Pryor's Place wasn't a cartoon, so I always changed the channel. I don't think I bothered to give it a chance. It's not like I lacked good options at the time anyway.

Personally, my favorite fare was in 85-87, but they weren't network toons (GI Joe, Teddy Ruxpin), so they obviously don't belong here.

Indeed about the Snorks as it tried too hard to be Smurf-like. Oh, well, it still had a good voice cast, so I can't complain, either.

I should also say that given my icon, the Orbots amuse me, as well. Heh.
