Fan Page: Punky Brewster

I think that Punky Brewster was the 80's kid female version of Chuck Norris; the Girls wanted to BE her, the boys wanted to be WITH her.

I, like most boys my age, had a HUGE crush on Punky Brewster. 90% of the girls in my class dressed and acted like her. Punky Brewster was an obsession that could not be quieted by something as simple as a terrible cartoon! And really... if it hadn't been for the presence of Punky, this show would have been as unwatchable as the Gary Coleman show*.

Show some love in the comments below, and if you haven't already done so? Be sure to go and vote for my beloved Punky Brewster in our Best of 1985 Poll!

Since this is making the news, I must link it:

She also has her own parenting blog, if anyone is interested:

That may be, but certain actors and actresses will always be identified by their character. Hell, "Punky Brewster" will likely be on her tombstone. Heh. Besides, I have to take my segue as I can find them, as "how often am I going to link to anything with Soieil Moon Frye?" (Which is argubly the coolest name ever.)

Although, your comic book nerd analogy was a nice touch. (Insert the obligatory "not sarcasm" tag.)

I watched this when I was 4, but all I recall are the opening credits. For years, the cartoon was the only Punky Brewster show that I knew about. I may have just watched for the weird animal thing.

I have some bitterness about Punky Brewster cartoon...I found a RARE VHS copy at our local Goodwill several years ago, and my son recently SHREDDED it.
....So it is no longer....But man I loved that tape. Obviously he didn't :*(

I use to have the Punky Brewster shoes, but I couldn't wear them to Catholic School. They were too colorful.
