Realavant To Our Interests: Dungeons & Dragon DVD

GREETINGS 1980'S SATURDAY MORNING ENTHUSIASTS!!! I know, it's been a long time and I'm sorry for that, things are crazy in my life right now in a bad, time-consuming, life-changing, universe-spanning, Doctor-regenerating way and I just haven't had ANY tme to dedicate to our little group :(

HOWEVER! THIS NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION!!!

Perennial 1980's Saturday Morning Historical Recreation Society favorite DUNGEONS & DRAGONS THE COMPLETE SERIES is on sale at Amazon.com for just FIVE DOLLARS!!!

This is the "First Release" that the studio is trying to clear out - JUST THE EPISODES. All 27 original episodes, no extras, no bells, no whistles, no inserts, no D&D module to play at home, JUST CARTOONS.

Despite the lack of bonus features and extras, this is an excellent set to own that will soon have a bit of historical value - it's the only edition that has all the original music (CITATION NEEDED - have not confirmed this personally, but I know that several previous releases of the series have a different musical score because rights could not be obtained).

Go and buy a few copies while they're still available! FIVE BUCKS! That's like TWENTY CENTS PER EPISODE!!!

Time for me to finally upgrade from my VHS copies I guess :)

An excellent DVD set

That's a deal that cannot be beat on an incredible series.

hmmm...I might have to check that out...a friend of ours gave us that basic set--at least I think it is, will have to look--after we'd already gotten the one with all the bells and whistles [though don't get me started on the stats they gave for the Gang...LOL]. I know the version with the extras has different music for some episodes. NOt that I can recall for which episodes off the top of my head, would have to look that one up too...LOL

In any event, that's a pretty darned awesome deal!

If I didn't already own this, I'd be buying it!

This set is pretty easy to find, I work for Half Price Books and we've been selling this set new for $5.00 for a couple of years now. It is put out by Mill Creek, who primarily publish budget releases (those packs of 50 sci-fi movies, etc.), so the quality of the transfers will be lesser than the previous release.

I got the original release back when it came out (which I'm sure comes as no surprise :P), it's fancy with lots of extras, pretty tough to find now I think. Looks and sounds great, and I have NEVER heard about any issues with the sound or music until now. I looked around, and the ONLY place I see anyone making this complaint is that one review on Amazon where the guy is basing it solely on his childhood memories. My guess, he just remembers it wrong.

You might even be able to find this set cheaper, they ended up on clearance a lot at my store for like $3. Not a big seller, sadly.

I bought this actually, as a gift for my sister! This was her VERY favorite cartoon.
