Poll: Breakfast Cereal Part I - TV, Movies & Toys

Since LJ limits our polls to just 15 options per survey, I've decided to split the Breakfast Cereal Poll in to three different polls for the three major types of breakfast cereal you may have eaten. First up is this one, "TV, Movies & Toys". This is for all the cereals that were just another cog in the great be marketing machine for various products. If you doubt the existence of any of these cereals or just need to jog your memory, don't forget that you can click on the name in order to see the commercial for that particular cereal :)

Our next cereal poll, btw, will be "Healthy Cereal" - Those cereals that tried to market themselves as a healthy alternative with "less sugar" and "More vitamins". And then after that, the third cereal poll, "Sugary Cereals".

I remember having Nintendo cereal. Hey, it was Nintendo, and as a kid gamer a must have! And I thought it was neat it had two cereals in it even though both was rather meh tasting to me. But I did enjoy Cocoa Pebbles for a bit ^_^

I've never heard of these cereals except for cocoa and fruity pebbles. Wow.

If I'm remembering right, Pac Man Cereal had little marshmallows shaped like ghosts and Pac Man himself. Anything that had marshmallows in it was great. Donkey Kong was okay until for some unknown reason I started to get sick every time I ate it.

*Taste?* Phepppp. Who needs taste when you have red dye no. 5? It was fanfic in cornstarch form. This was what we had before the internet.

Wow, we didn't have of these, but can I vote for the ones I WOULD have eaten? :P

Mr T ftw!

All great cereals from childhood. I would take those little shaped marshmallows that were so common in cereals and string them up on a little Christmas tree. But I would change the poll a bit because most of the cereals on the list were only around for a short time while some like Fruity Pebbles were long time staples that are still around. Maybe do a poll in the future for gimmick cereals.

Dayum!! I still remember the Smurfberry Crunch jingle, lol!! I used to BEG for these shits, lol!!

Your not wrong, but can anything that has been around for 40 years be considered a gimmick?

We could just say that Fred and Barney are in a class by themselves and leave it at that ;) They are the best cartoon duo ever!

Many of these were cereals my parents wouldn't buy me. :(

OMG... I loved Smurfberry Crunch cereal and my kid sister ate Strawberry Shortcake cereal like crazy... they were both sugary deliciousness!! :D

*cries* How did I never know about Strawberry Shortcake cereal?!?!?!? I looooooooooooooved Strawberry Shortcake, and now I feel like there is a missing piece of my childhood I never got a chance to experience :-(

Really, though, I occasionally liked Cap'n Crunch, and AppleJacks, and Cocoa/Fruity Pebbles...but really--even as a kid--I was more of a Raisin Bran and Cinnamon Toast Crunch sort of girl.

Ok, I cannot bring myself to skew the results of your invaluable research, so I will abstain. :P

I was never allowed to eat sugary cereals as a kid. I feel deprived. XD
