WORLDS GREATEST SUPER FRIENDS (1973 - 1986) Over on your local ABC affiliate starting at 8am on Saturday morning in 1980, you would have seen the fourth series of the long-running “Super Friends” cartoon titled “Worlds Greatest Super Friends”. It was produced by Hanna-Barbera and was based on the Justice League of America (JLA) and associated comic book characters published by DC Comics. THIS was the year that they debuted THE WONDER TWINS!!! Zan, Jayna and their blue Monkey Gleek :)

I remember getting home from my high school graduation and for some reason ytv had this playing (at the forkaken early hour that it was). I didn't even know ytv played this. I plopped myself down in my sparkly pink dress and watched an episode (as I'm a grown up like that).

Don't remember the episode but Zan turned into a bucket of water. CLEARLY based on cartoon lore this was impossible as Zan turns into water things and a bucket is not made of water. It should have been an ice bucket filled with water but apparently whoever made this cartoon didn't care enough to be accurate.

I'm apparently judgy when I'm sleep deprived so I promptly went to bed. Was a decent show though, I liked it :)

LOL okay, so it's a story about some alien kids and their blue space-monkey with an elastic tale, one turns in to any animal she can think of and the other turns in to any water-based thing he can think of - you're okay with that part. No problem accepting that, shape-changing alien kids often pair well with blue space monkey, that's acceptable. But the breaking point for you, the point where you could no longer suspend your disbelief, was when the bucket showed up? THAT'S where your brain said "Oh now COME ON, this is HARDLY believable at THIS point"?
