I dug this one just because I'd been a fan of the early Garfield stuff, when Davis was truly in his heyday of weirdness. Garfield was the first comic strip that ever made me laugh out loud, circa 1982-83. My best friend back then and I were manic for the strip -- his cat was even named Garfield, we had a 'fanclub', all of that. I still have my stuffed Garfield around here somewhere, and the books of collected strips. We all know Davis hasn't likely had much to do with the franchise for years now, but the man was one of the original comic strip geniuses.
